Yes — dry fire is safe for modern centerfire striker-fired pistols and is the best way to build skill for free. The danger isn't the gun, it's the process, so build a ritual: unload, remove the magazine, physically and visually check the chamber, then check it again. Put all live ammo in a different room. Aim at something that would safely stop a round (a concrete wall, a loaded bookshelf) — never a TV or an interior wall to a bedroom. Snap caps aren't required for centerfire but they let you practice reloads safely. Rimfire is the exception — always use snap caps there.
