Absolutely, if you know what you are buying. The 1911 has the best stock trigger in the handgun world, a slim grip many love, and a shooting feel nothing else matches. The tradeoffs vs. a modern striker gun: lower capacity (in classic single-stacks), more weight, a higher price for a quality one, and more maintenance. As a range gun, a passion gun, or a carry piece for someone who will train with it, it is very much worth it — just not the budget choice.
